For run clubs
Race registration and ticketing for run clubs in Malaysia
GateTic handles the parts of a run that aren't the running: opening registration without your site falling over, collecting the details you need per runner, and checking hundreds of people in on race morning from a phone.
What run organisers use it for
Openings that don't oversell
Registration opens and closes on a set window, each distance has its own cap, and a per-runner purchase limit stops one person taking twenty slots. Entries are held while someone is paying and released back to the pool if they don't finish, so a sell-out is real rather than an abandoned checkout.
Categories and pricing
A ticket type per distance or wave — 5K, 10K, half, kids' dash — each with its own price and quantity. Prices can step by quantity for team entries. Guest checkout means a runner doesn't need an account, and entries can be embedded on your own site.
Race-morning check-in
Each entry carries a QR code. Crew scan it from a phone at bib collection or the start line, and every scan is logged, so you know who actually turned up rather than who paid.
Group entries and per-runner details
One person can enter a whole team in a single checkout, and each entry collects its own details — T-shirt size, IC, emergency contact, whatever fields you define, with required and unique-value rules where you need them.
A club page people can find
Every organiser gets a page listing their upcoming runs, published with structured data so search engines and AI assistants can answer "which club organises runs in Penang" with your name on it.
Crew and vendors
Crew accounts scan and manage entries on the day without being given the run of the organiser dashboard, and vendors at the event are handled separately from runners.
Common questions
- Can it handle a race that sells out in minutes?
- Registration runs on a set opening and closing window, each distance is capped separately, and a per-runner purchase limit stops one person taking a block of slots. Entries are held while a runner is paying and returned to the pool if the payment is not completed, so the count stays accurate during a rush.
- Can we have different distances at different prices?
- Yes — a ticket type per distance or wave, each with its own price and quantity, so 5K, 10K and half-marathon entries are tracked and capped separately. Prices can also step by quantity for team entries.
- Do runners need an account to register?
- No. Guest checkout lets someone enter with just the details you ask for, and their QR ticket is emailed to them.
- Can one person register a whole group?
- Yes. A team can be entered in a single checkout, and each entry still collects its own details through the fields you define — T-shirt size, IC, emergency contact — including fields you mark required or unique per entry.
- How does bib collection and race-morning check-in work?
- Crew scan each entry's QR code from a phone. Every scan is logged, so you can see who collected and who actually started rather than only who paid.
- Can we sell entries from our own website?
- Yes — ticket sales can be embedded on your own site, and your club also gets a GateTic organiser page listing your upcoming runs.
